Bio
Matthew Hartwell is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s School of International Service. He is also a research associate with the Project on Managing the Atom at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and the Center for Security, Innovation, and New Technology at Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s School of International Service. Matthew’s doctoral research examines the role of population protection in Âé¶¹´«Ã½ nuclear strategy throughout the Cold War. His broader research interests include deterrence theory, emerging military technology, arms control, and the domestic sources of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ foreign policy.
