Bio
Dr. Walti is an international scholar of public policy. Her fields of specialization include comparative public policy and public administration, policy analysis, comparative federalism, and environmental policy. She has conducted research related to land use planning, environmental policy, environmental federalism, energy policy, toxic chemicals policy, nuclear waste management, fiscal policy, drug policy, and public-private partnerships from both a domestic and comparative perspective. Her work has been presented at many domestic and international professional and academic conferences, and her publications have appeared in reputed international journals and books. She has contributed to mandates for several government organizations.
At Âé¶¹´«Ã½, Dr. Walti teaches Foundations of Policy Analysis, Policy Process, Public Administration in the Policy Process, and the Policy Practicum in our MPP, MPA, and online MPAP programs. She serves as SPA Director of Online Programs and, as such, directs the Department of Public Administration and Policy's online Master in Public Administration and Policy program. From 2015 until 2020, she served as the Book Review Editor of Publius: The Journal of Federalism. From 2006 until 2016, she served as the Chair of the International Political Science Association’s Research Committee RC28-Comparative Federalism and Multilevel Governance. Prior to joining Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s School of Public Affairs, Dr. Walti was Professor of Public Policy and Administration at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Prior to her service at the Hertie School, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute (now McCourt School of Public Policy), funded by a postdoctoral fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
